What is lifestyle activity?
Any body movement that gets your heart beating a little bit faster. Adults should aim to do at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity activity a day- more if they want to lose weight.

Examples of lifestyle activity:

  • Walking
  • Leisurely cycling
  • Climbing stairs
  • Housework
  • Gardening

Why Increase lifestyle activity?
Increasing lifestyle activity is an easy way to increase the amount of energy we use in one day. Do you find it a challenge to fit in exercise? If so, by increasing lifestyle activity, you are making sure you use more energy but not have to set aside a lot of time to do it.
